In this project, I was tasked to imagine and build a plausible future to base a body of design work off of. I set this future in the year of 2070, in a time when humans are capable of using plant life to generate electricity, effectively making fossil fuels obsolete. I had to create a physical artifact to represent this world, which I fabricated with a 3D printer. I also had to create a cohesive brand identity for a company in this imagined world. This company was called Chloris, the leading biotechnology engineers creating renewable plant-powered energy.
This body of work conveys a futuristic, green, and progressive world through the lens of a technologically advanced company. The Chloris logo is distinct, variable, and reflects the company’s core values. The Chloraseed and model artifacts give a tangible experience for people to grasp onto and connect with on a physical level. The textual and visual information in the printed materials show that Chloris is not a typical tech company, but one that people can stand by and trust to better the planet.
The materials created for this project were displayed in the
2024 UWM Speculative Design Showcase — Hereafter.
