The objective for this project was to create a distinct visual identity for the independent film, Love & Irony. Square Joint wanted the promotional materials to take inspiration from 1970s film poster design aesthetics.

I worked from 2023 to 2025, assisting director John Biesack to his vision to life. From its festival debut in 2023 to its digital release in 2025, the imagery of Love & Irony has gone through many different iterations. Properly adjusting promotional material for different showings, festivals, and audiences was a necessity.

This set of work consists of bold, eye-catching imagery and typography. Per client request, the design nods to 1970s films with stark photographic and typographic focal points. The promotional materials utilize the timeless and recognizable Futura typeface. The primarily monochromatic color palette of the designs reflect the use of black-and-white 35mm film.
